Viajes con mascotas

En Turkish Airlines, nos aseguramos de que las mascotas de nuestros pasajeros disfruten también de un viaje cómodo y seguro. Por esta razón, permitimos que las mascotas viajen con usted siempre que no supongan una amenazara para su seguridad o la seguridad de otros pasajeros. Al abonar un cargo adicional en el aeropuerto, puede disfrutar de un agradable viaje sin preocuparse por la seguridad de su mascota.

Puede viajar con su mascota si abona el cargo por exceso de equipaje aplicable a su ruta. El cargo por exceso de equipaje se calculará en función del peso combinado de la mascota y el transportín. Para obtener información más detallada, visite nuestra página sobre exceso de equipaje.

Mascotas que se pueden transportar en la cabina

Las mascotas domésticas como gatos y perros o pájaros (ejemplo: canarios) pueden transportarse en la cabina siempre y cuando no exista algún pasajero que haya proporcionado un certificado médico donde se indique que es alérgico a los animales. La profundidad, anchura y altura del transportín no debe exceder los 23 x 40 x 55 cm y no puede pesar más de 8 kg con su mascota.

Le recomendamos que compruebe las normativas del país de destino en relación con las mascotas. Además, para garantizar que su mascota viaje en el avión, lleve consigo los registros de vacunación con los datos de identidad, así como cualquier otra documentación requerida por el país que vaya a visitar.

Transporte de mascotas en la bodega

Si su mascota no puede viajar en la cabina debido a que el transportín no se ajusta a nuestras condiciones, (a modo de ejemplo: Su peso es superior a 8 kg o las dimensiones del transportín exceden las permitidas), podemos transportar su mascota en la bodega de la aeronave. Para garantizar que su mascota tenga un viaje cómodo y seguro, los transportines utilizados deben tener un tamaño adecuado, disponer de buena ventilación y estar ubicados sobre un suelo impermeable. También debe añadir al transportín una etiqueta que incluya los datos del documento de identidad de la mascota.

Perros guía

Los pasajeros que necesiten viajar con un perro guía por motivos físicos o psicológicos deben proporcionar un certificado médico donde consten sus requisitos. Los pasajeros que necesiten viajar con un perro guía deben recibir la aprobación de la reserva al menos 48 horas antes del vuelo. El perro guía, que podrá viajar sin coste adicional, deberá ir sujeto con una correa, llevar bozal y permanecer a sus pies durante el viaje.

Debido a las normativas de EE. UU., es posible que algunos animales de servicio que no sean perros no puedan viajar en los vuelos hacia o desde Estados Unidos. Antes de volar a Estados Unidos, le recomendamos que se ponga en contacto con nuestro servicio de atención al cliente para confirmar si pueden satisfacerse sus necesidades.

Animales prohibidos en los vuelos

Debido a las normativas de aviación internacionales, no permitimos que determinados animales suban a bordo. En el avión no se permiten las siguientes razas ni ninguna otra similar: pit bull terrier, pit bull terrier americano, bull terrier, Staffordshire terrier americano, tosa japonés (Bandog Tosa Inu), dogo argentino, fila brasileño, rottweiler, Staffordshire bull terrier, mastín español, dogo de Burdeos, perro de pelea, mastín, dogo del Tíbet, dóberman, bulldog americano, pastos caucásico, mastín napolitano.

Información importante

La decisión final sobre si las mascotas pueden o no transportarse en la bodega recae sobre el piloto. Por lo tanto, si nuestro piloto nos informa antes del vuelo de que las condiciones de ventilación son insuficientes, no permitiremos la entrada de su mascota en la bodega. 

En nuestros vuelos, permitimos un máximo de dos transportines por pasajero. Recuerde que solo podemos transportar un transportín en la cabina. 

Solo permitiremos que viajen en el mismo transportín las mascotas del mismo sexo que estén acostumbradas a convivir. El peso combinado de los animales transportados juntos no debe exceder los 15 kg con el transportín incluido. Las mascotas que superen los 15 kg deben transportarse de forma independiente. 

Turkish Airlines no se responsabiliza de los posibles problemas de salud que puedan padecer sus mascotas ni durante ni después del vuelo.

  • Debe recibir la aprobación para las mascotas que desee transportar, ya sea en la cabina o en la bodega, al menos seis horas antes de su hora de salida.
  • No permitimos animales en estado de gestación ni gatos o perros de menos de ocho semanas a bordo de nuestros vuelos.
  • Si existen pasajeros a bordo que hayan proporcionado un certificado médico antes del vuelo donde conste que son alérgicos a los animales, lamentablemente sus mascotas no podrán viajar en la cabina.
  • Las únicas mascotas que pueden viajar en la cabina son gatos, perros, jilgueros, canarios.

FEES FOR CARRYING PETS

The carriage of pets is not included in free baggage allowance and is subject to fees. Please see the table for more information.

1. Fees for carrying pets on domestic flights

If the pet and its cage or container weighs 8 kg or less, they may travel in the flight cabin. Those weighing more than 8 kg will be carried in the cargo hold. A fixed fee will be charged based on the total weight of the pet and its cage or container. If this is 8 kg or less, a fee of 70 TL will be charged. 110 TL will be charged for a weight of 9-15 kg, and a fee of 170 TL will be charged for a weight of 16 kg and over.

2. Fees for carrying pets on international flights

Carriage of pets is not included in free baggage allowance and is subject to fees. Fees for carrying pets on journeys which include an international destination are indicated below.

A. Fees under the baggage weight concept

If the pet and its cage or container weighs 8 kg or less, they may travel in the flight cabin. Those weighing more than 8 kg will be carried in the cargo hold.

A1. Fees for carrying pets in the flight cabin (PETC)

If the pet and its cage or container weighs 8 kg or less, they may travel in the flight cabin. The total weight of the pet and cage or container will be multiplied by the excess baggage fee applicable on the route. If the fee calculated exceeds USD 70, the total will be charged. The minimum fee charged is USD 70.

A2. Fees for carrying pets in the cargo hold (AVIH)

The total weight of the pet and cage or container will be multiplied by the excess baggage fee applicable on the route. If the fee calculated exceeds USD 140, the total will be charged. The minimum fee charged is USD 140.

A3. Fees for carrying pets on intermediary fights (5th and 8th Freedom of the Air)

On intermediary flights able to carry pets, the applicable excess baggage fees for the route will be charged on fights where pets are carried in the flight cabin. If the fee calculated exceeds USD 35, the total will be charged. The minimum fee charged is USD 35.

B1.1. Fees for carrying pets in the flight cabin (PETC)

The applicable excess baggage fees for the route will be charged on transit flights where pets are carried in the flight cabin. If the fee calculated exceeds USD 150, the total will be charged. The minimum fee charged is USD 150.

B1.2. Fees for carrying pets in the cargo hold (AVIH)

Twice the applicable excess baggage fees for the route will be charged on transit flights where pets are carried in the cargo hold. If the fee calculated exceeds USD 300, the total will be charged. The minimum fee charged is USD 300.

B2. Fees for carrying pets on journeys with stopovers

B2.1. Fees for carrying pets in the flight cabin (PETC)

On journeys with stopovers in Turkey which apply the baggage piece concept, when carrying pets in the flight cabin, the applicable excess baggage fee for the location which applies the baggage piece concept and Turkey will be charged. If the fee calculated exceeds USD 150, the total will be charged. The minimum fee charged is USD 150. 

At stopover points in Turkey where check-in will be completed at least 24 hours later, the carriage fee for pets will be determined according to the onward destination when checking in at the stopover location. For carriage of pets on domestic flights within Turkey, a fee of USD 35 per cage or container will be charged. On international flights which apply the baggage weight concept, a fee of USD 50 per cage or container will be charged. On international flights which apply the baggage piece concept, a fee of USD 150 per cage or container will be charged.

B2.2. Fees for carrying pets in the cargo hold (AVIH)

On journeys with stopovers in Turkey which apply the baggage piece concept, when carrying pets in the cargo hold, twice the applicable excess baggage fee for the location which applies the baggage piece concept and Turkey will be charged. If the fee calculated exceeds USD 300, the total will be charged. The minimum fee charged is USD 300. 

At stopover points in Turkey where check-in will be completed at least 24 hours later, the carriage fee for pets will be determined according to the onward destination when checking in at the stopover location. For carriage of pets on domestic flights within Turkey, a fee of USD 70 per cage or container will be charged. On international flights which apply the baggage weight concept, a fee of USD 100 per cage or container will be charged. On international flights which apply the baggage piece concept, a fee of USD 300 per cage or container will be charged.

B3. Fees for carrying pets on intermediary fights (5th and 8th Freedom of the Air)

On intermediary flights which apply the piece baggage concept and which able to carry pets, a fee of USD 75 will be charged per cage or container carried in the flight cabin, and a fee of USD 150 will be charged per cage or container carried in the cargo hold.

Accepting pets on flights to Northern Cyprus

In order to carry pets on flights bound for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, you must obtain an import license from the TRNC Veterinary Office. The validity of this license is 60 days. You must also obtain a travel health certificate from the veterinary directorate of your country at least 48 hours before departure. 

You must carry your cat's or dog's passport which shows their inoculation record and their medical records. Dogs must have received inoculations for Parvo, Distemper, Hepatitis and Leptospira; cats must have received inoculations for Feline Enteritisa and Feline Influenza. Your pet must have been inoculated against rabies at least one month and no more than one year before traveling. 

You must also carry the original lab report showing your pet’s levels of blood antibodies against rabies in order to travel with your cat or dog. 

We do not carry pets younger than three months alone on our Northern Cyprus flights. We can carry pets aged over two months on the condition that they travel with their mother, they have a passport, they have stayed in the same location since birth, and have not come into contact with any wild animals which may have passed on infection.
